Meier Clinics provides services to people with various mental health illnesses including depression, bipolar, psychosis, ADHD and various forms of anxiety. This article will focus on anxiety, which is defined as how our bodies respond to a stressor or stimulating factor. The words “fear not” appear in the bible 365 times. That is symbolic as God wanted us to hear “fear not” every day of our lives. There are various texts that we can read on anxiety. For example, Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace that surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 1:7 states, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind.”
You are never remembered because of what you avoided but by the challenges you survived. Esther is remembered for being a prayerful woman and freeing her people. Job is remembered for losing everything but still praising God. Daniel is remembered for the lion’s den. Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego are remembered for the fiery furnace. David is remembered for killing the giant, Goliath. Any stressor in your life is propelling you forward to greater things. You will soar with wings like an eagle and be an overcomer.
The testing of your faith develops perseverance which must finish its work in your life so that you may mature. To everything, there is a season. No matter what we are going through, it cannot last forever. Seasons are only temporary. They are always changing. There is no storm, tornado or hurricane that lasts forever. In February 2021, Texas was brought to a standstill by a snowstorm and within the same week, we had temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. No storm lasts forever. Any storm that we go through in life will come to an end and there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
You may have read the poem about the footprints in the sand. If you have not, please search for it online. During the writer’s good times, he saw two sets of footprints. When the man looked at the set of footprints during his darkest, trying moments, he realized that the Lord was not there. When he asked the Lord where He was, He said “It was then that I carried you”.
We at Meier Clinics ask the Lord daily to use us so we can “carry you” during those trying moments, the dark times in your life and the storms in your life as you face your giants. We know anxiety is real. Our therapists and psychiatric providers will guide you to get the peace that surpasses all understanding and when the storm passes, when the rain stops pouring and as the rainbow shows up, we will be right there as you soar with wings like an eagle. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We know the Lord has great plans for you. We provide compassionate, personal care that is tailored to help you live the life that God has purposed for you. Please do not hesitate to contact our clinic. We are only a phone call away.
