Treatment Issues: Sandy frequently works with adults with the following clinical concerns: Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Health Issues, Panic Disorder, Personality Disorders, and Sleep Disorders
Education & Training: Sandy received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1999, her Masters of Arts in Education in 2009, and her Masters of Science in Nursing along with her Post-Masters Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner in 2015. She is credentialed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Sandy is licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse and an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Background and Experience: Sandy has worked in a hospital in both the adolescent and adult psychiatric units, has worked with patients in an out-patient setting, and has worked in a school district since 2003. She also volunteers at an out-patient clinic caring for persons without insurance. Sandy has received training as a Stephen Minister at her Lutheran Church, which allows her to meet confidentially with others to actively listen to issues they may be dealing with, give them support and encourage them in their faith.
Special Interests & Services: Nurse practitioners are mid-level health providers that successfully complete a Post-Master’s Degree program specifically intended to train Graduate level nurses to provide health care, education and treatment to their patients. Nurse practitioners are able to prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, diagnose patients and treat them accordingly. Nurse practitioners are taught to educate patients about their health and options for treating any health conditions they may have.
Additional Info: Sandy has been married to her husband since 1978 and has two adult children and three adult step-children. She also has six grandchildren. She enjoys traveling and re-decorating her home, as well as spending time with her family.
