    Treatment Issues: Kendra is licensed in Texas as a Professional Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. She works primarily from an existential and person-centered theoretical orientation, supporting client growth through authentic relationships. She also uses experiential and strategic techniques to help clients move toward their goals and integrate their cognitive, affective, somatic, and spiritual experiences. As a systemic trained therapist, Kendra always seeks to understand the context of a client’s struggles and aims to support the entire family in mental and emotional health.

    Education & Training: Before entering the counseling field, Kendra worked in an international ministry setting. She has a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry from Mid-America Christian University and a Master’s degree in linguistics from the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics. She went on to study professional counseling, earning her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She has been married for over 20 years and has 3 children.

    Background and Experience: Kendra began her clinical work at the Irving Family Advocacy Center, where she saw a variety of clients of all ages, including many trauma and abuse survivors. In 2019, she joined the Meier Catalyst program, where she did intensive group and individual counseling with clients struggling with depression and anxiety, as well as people diagnosed on the bipolar and schizophrenia spectrums. She also gained experience in effectively treating mental health issues that are complicated by various personality disorders.

    Special Interests & Services: Kendra specializes in working with clients recovering from post-traumatic stress, anxiety disorders, and spiritual struggles.
