    Education & Training: Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Philosophy from Louisiana State University, 2015. Master of Arts and Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton Graduate School, 2017 and 2021, respectively. Doctoral Internship completed at San Quentin State Prison in San Francisco, CA, 2021. Post-Doctoral Residency completed at The Well Clinic in Louisiana, 2022. Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Louisiana, 2022. Licensure by endorsement in progress in Illinois, anticipated 2023

    Background and Experience: Dr. Franklin worked in academic settings for two years at Wheaton College Counseling Center and the University of Chicago treating undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, he worked with adults and couples from various backgrounds for three years in private practice in downtown Chicago at Chicago Clinical Associates and in Louisiana at The Well Clinic. Dr. Franklin also spent two years working with more clinically severe populations at San Quentin State Prison and Meier Clinics’ intensive care programs, where he also received psychological assessment training.

    Special Interests & Services: Dr. Franklin treats adolescents ages 16 to 18, adults, and couples with a wide range of issues. Dr. Franklin describes his therapy style as research-based quality care that is tailored to the presenting concerns of every individual and couple. Some of the frameworks Dr. Franklin employs include EMDR, Positive Psychology, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Existential-Humanistic Therapies. Dr. Franklin especially appreciates the opportunity to serve persons of color and people from predominantly underserved communities using multicultural frameworks. Additionally, rather than the traditional approach to treatment that merely focuses on symptom reduction, Dr. Franklin is passionate about fostering holistic flourishing using positive psychology and a strengths-based approach to wellness.

    Additional Info: Dr. Franklin is also in the process of completing a Master of Arts degree in Systematic Theology from Wheaton College to especially better assist Christian clergy struggling with spiritual concerns. Dr. Franklin is privileged to walk alongside troubled marriages, widowed mothers, burnt-out students, and many others as they recover a sense of wholeness and meaning. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing ping pong and enjoying a good book.
