    Treatment Issues: Dr. Evangelatos has a broad range of clinical experience working with diverse client populations in a variety of settings. Dr. Evangelatos spent the past two years completing her post-doctoral training at Rose City Center in Pasadena, where she received specialized training in psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed care and dream analysis. While at Rose City, Dr. Evangelatos worked with individuals and couples struggling with a wide spectrum of issues such as anxiety, depression, parenting problems, divorce, relationship difficulties, and sexual addiction.

    Education & Training: Dr. Evangelatos earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology and a master’s in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary.

    Background and Experience: Dr. Evangelatos served on the board of the Orange County Psychological Association as the early career professional chair and the social networking committee chair. She has worked as an adjunct professor at Stanbridge College in Irvine, California, where she taught undergraduate courses in world religions, psychology, and cultural diversity.

    Special Interests & Services: Dr. Evangelatos primarily takes a psychoanalytic approach to psychotherapy along with Cognitive Behavioral interventions to help clients grow toward health and wholeness. Dr. Evangelatos considers the relationship between past and present and examines problematic relationship patterns to create new life possibilities such as increased self-esteem, better use of talents and abilities, and an improved capacity for developing and maintaining satisfying relationships. She enjoys working with clients wanting to incorporate spirituality as part of psychotherapy, which provides an opportunity to treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Additionally, she has experience working with those who had suffered from harmful religious practices

    Additional Info: In the course of her training, she has worked in multidisciplinary settings professionals consisting of  psychologists, MD’s, psychiatrists, and social workers to provide multi-faceted care in an in-patient faith based residential drug treatment center and in community mental health organizations. She has also provided care to underserved populations in Missouri and in Los Angeles’ Skid-Row, including comprehensive psychological testing, crisis management, and individual therapy. She has presented her clinical research project, “Christian Therapists’ Experiences With An Integrated Faith-Based Practice” through poster presentations at the California Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, and the Orange County Psychological Association. Dr. Cathy Evangelatos is a prelicenced psychological associate (PSB94024856). She is supervised by David Adams, Psy.D, (PSY 28442).
