Family Bridges

In 2011, Meier Clinics Foundation was awarded a $2.5 million grant through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to develop a program that would address the need for healthy marriages. Family Bridges, a partnership of over 25 Chicago area organizations such as Meier Clinics of Illinois, The Salvation Army, and the Hispanic Bible School, was created to reach out to five Northern Illinois counties.

Healthy marriages are the cornerstone of strong families, which form the bedrock of a thriving society. Family Bridges recognizes society’s critical need to strengthen marriages, especially among minorities and low-income communities. Through a unique network of providers, this newly charged initiative teaches couples, individuals, and high school students how to create and maintain healthy, enriching relationships. Family Bridges offers teaching through free workshops throughout Chicagoland, available in both English and Spanish, as well as periodic weekend retreats and conferences.
