Dr. Virginia Neal began working Meier Clinics in 2016, and works with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Neal is unique because she is a former Advanced Nurse Practitioner as well as a Psychologist. A strong relationship between the patient and the psychologist is a major influence on the patient’s experiences and outcome. Family members may also be important in collaborating in these processes for their loved-one. She believes the strongest therapeutic approach is counseling along with medication management. For younger children and adolescents, she likes to utilize a behavior management approach, cognitive behavior therapy, and supportive therapy.
Dr. Neal has experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, Psychosis, Grief, Adjustment Issues, Anger Management, Sleep Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and OCD
She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and her Ph.D. in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. She earned her Advance Nurse Practice certificate from UCLA. She also earned a postdoctoral Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, through a joint-program with Texas A&M University.
