Valencia Wiggins

Valencia joined Meier Clinics in 1997 and provides counseling for adolescents and adults for a wide range of issues.

Some treatment areas that Valencia frequently works with include:

Depression, Anxiety, Sexual Abuse, Family Issues, Eating Disorders, Relationship Issues, Trauma, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Codependency, Grief/Loss, and Crisis Management.

She integrates family systems, psychodynamic, and interpersonal methods for an eclectic approach to therapy with clients. She accepts many insurance plans and will take clients at a reduced fee for those who meet financial guidelines.

In addition to her work at Meier Clinics, Valencia works full-time at the student counseling center at Wheaton College as a staff therapist. She has a Ph.D. from Walden University. She also worked as a counselor for another college counseling center in Chicago, and she has prior experience working as a mental health counselor on an adult psychiatric unit in the western suburbs of Chicago.
