Dr. Sakyiama provides medication evaluations and treatment for children from age 3 through adults. Her prior experience includes working with clients at the Covenant Medical Center in Iowa in the Psychiatry Clinic and Hospital for five years, in addition to another counseling agency in Illinois before joining Meier Clinics in October, 2010.

Dr. Sakyiama received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1994. Her postgraduate residency training in psychiatry was completed at North West Anglia Healthcare Trust, UK between 1997-2000. Higher specialist training in Adult Psychiatry was attained through University of Cambridge, UK between 2000-2002. Dr. Sakyiama completed her fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Elmhurst, NY between 2002-2004.
Dr. Sakyiama is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and is licensed by the State of Illinois to practice medicine. Specific board certification in Adult Psychiatry was received in 2005 and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Certification was attained in 2009 through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Sakyiama is very committed to the Christian faith and strives to help clients draw on their faith for strength during times of crisis and difficulty. She has been working with clients for medication management since 1997.
