Prior to joining Meier Clinics, Shannon worked as a school-based clinical therapist and has a great deal of experience working with kids and teens to help them cope with the daily stressors they face. Shannon also has experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, gender identity, sexual orientation, stress management, self-esteem and self-love, attachment, spiritual concerns, and forgiveness.
Shannon combines clinical treatment with faith, theology, and Christianity to help her clients face their issues head-on and understand that they are not alone in their fight. Shannon emphasizes the importance of a strong and trusting relationship between herself and those that she works with, knowing that a collaborative relationship between client and therapist is most effective.
Shannon is a graduate of Wheaton College Graduate School’s Marriage and Family Therapy program, where she was trained to integrate her faith with her practice. Shannon completed her clinical supervision at Transitions Mental Health Services in Moline, IL, and was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an effective way to process past traumas. Shannon seeks to use her training, compassion, and faith to provide a warm and safe environment for clients to begin their road to healing, gain insight, and find peace.”
