Jonathan is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works from a Christian worldview primarily through the Cognitive Behavioral and Existential approaches to therapy. He is also trained as an EMDR therapist to help people overcome traumatic experiences. Jonathan believes that a healthy view of God, self, and others is vital to mental health. Jonathan also helps people to identify their values and connect with purpose and meaning in their lives.
Jonathan graduated from the University of Texas Dallas with a B.A. in Literature. He earned his M.S. in Counseling from Southern Methodist University.
Jonathan has provided counseling at a family clinic, private practice, as a school counselor, in psychiatric hospitals and charitable organizations. He has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, avoidance, codependency, substance use, shame, boundaries, spiritual concerns, hopelessness, and meaninglessness.
Prior to working at Meier Jonathan provided comprehensive mental health assessments at Carrollton Springs intake department. Jonathan also worked as a PHP therapist for Carrollton springs leading group therapy. Before becoming a therapist, he worked as a high school teacher and restaurant manager.
In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, reading, disc golf, video games, and listening to Chillwave music.
