Jon Leong

Education and Training: Jon completed his Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies at Northwest University with an emphasis in Theology and Business. He is completing his final year of the Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwest University

Background and Experience: Jon has over 20 years of experience in the church as a volunteer and as a staff member, both in Hawaii and in the greater Seattle area. He has worked as a resident director of a ministry intern program where he led small groups and practiced biblical-based counseling with the interns. Aside from his focused passions in working with people, Jon has had a plethora of experience with different jobs over the years that include construction, running a flower shop, teaching at a kid’s gym, and working at a coffee company.

Special Interests: Jon is passionate about work with adults and helping them work through a wide range of issues. Utilizing an eclectic style of therapy, Jon enjoys navigating multicultural issues, marriage and family challenges, and boundary concerns utilizing person-centered, object relations, and insight-oriented therapy styles.

Additional Information: Certified as a Myers Briggs Type Personality practitioner, Jon enjoys teaching on personality types and utilizing that information to develop relational communication and understanding between individuals. In his spare time, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, watching movies, and having deep conversations.
