Aathina Dillard, LMHC, MA

Treatment Issues: Grief and loss,  anxiety, depression, faith-based counseling, peer relationships, self-esteem, and life transitions.

Education & Training: From Northwest University, Aathina earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, in 2013 and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, in 2015. She became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state in 2017. Aathina is becoming credentialed and accredited in Emotional Freedom Techniques, through Craig Werner and Alina Frank here in WA

Background & Experience: Aathina interned in Grief and Bereavement services for a year. Additionally, she worked at an in-patient hospital for eating and food-related disorders for two years in Bellevue, WA. Then, she worked for the US Military (Active, Guard, Reserve, and Veterans) through their Employee Assistance Program for two years.  Finally, Aathina owned a private practice in Redmond and Puyallup, WA for three years before coming to join Meier Clinics.

Special Interests & Services: Aathina incorporates therapeutic strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Dialectical behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Stabilization Treatment. Strength-based, Motivational Interviewing. Aathina specializes in working with individuals, ages 16 and up, who have disordered eating or are in the maintenance/recovery stage of an eating disorder, new parents, and BIPOC (Black, Indegiouness, People of Color) individuals working to become acculturated to living in the Pacific Northwest.

Additional Information: Aathina applies her passion for working with others in and outside the office. She volunteers regularly in her community, from free baby-sitting for new parents to providing counseling skills when local crises arise as well as at church-sponsored foster care camps during the summer.
