Dan has worked as an outpatient therapist for Meier Clinics at the Wheaton and Geneva clinic locations since 2007. Although Dan has served a wide range of clients, teens through adults, with addiction issues, he has a passion for working with adolescents (13+), especially those who are hard to reach at times. Dan also has a passion for helping people who are struggling spiritually with questions about faith, disappointments, or in need of spiritual direction in order to renew their hope. He enjoys helping young singles, engaged and married couples navigate marriage related issues and develop a healthy perspective of marriage. He uses multiple therapy approaches including interpersonal, cognitive behavioral, client-centered, solution-focused, experiential, and psychodynamic methods. Dan has extensive training in, and often utilizes, experiential activities (team building activities, videos, games, etc.) to create a forum for change with clients.

Dan received his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in 2005, and became licensed in the State of Illinois as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2005. He has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2009 and has been certified in Illinois as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor since 2007. Dan received training and two years of experience in the area of Chemical Dependency and Dual Diagnosis and has worked in the area of addictions since 2004.
Prior to his full-time work at Meier Clinics, Dan was a clinical therapist for Linden Oaks (Mental Health specific) in the Adolescent Chemical Dependency/Dual Diagnosis program for almost 8 years. Early in his career, Dan worked in a community counseling center, primarily with adolescents who were court involved due to drugs and/or gang related activity. He also has experience working with young adults at Wheaton College.
Dan enjoys the outdoors and is an avid mountain biker, camper, and backpacker.
Dan offers reduced fees to clients who meet the financial guidelines.
