Education and Training
David graduated with honors with Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. He is currently enrolled in the Doctorate in Counseling Psychology program at the College Social and Behavioral Sciences at Northwest University.
Background and Experience
David has a background in working with children and adolescents. He worked as a Children’s Ministry staff member for 6 years and worked as a Youth Group staff member for 5 years. He is trained in teaching Bible studies and has led a Bible study group for several years. David has familiarity with different Asian cultures and issues surrounding them were gained over years of traveling to different countries on missions. Multi-cultural and faith elements are incorporated into the therapy model.
Special Interests and Services
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the modalities of treatment David commonly uses. Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Existential Therapy modality are also used. Challenging and repairing negative cognition and thoughts through the use of faith, culture, and family systems can bring about great change and healing.
David has traveled to China, Cambodia, India, Mexico, and Korea on mission trips and has learned the customs, beliefs, and other cultural aspects of those countries. He is fluent in Korean.
