Meier Clinics Seattle office offers comprehensive neuropsychological and forensic assessments, ages pre-school through senior. The specificity of such diagnoses can be a tremendous asset for treatment planning, by delineating style differences and how organic issues affect us behaviorally, relationally, academically, vocationally, spiritually, and emotionally.

These assessments , often standardized internationally, involve interesting exercises, often in a game format. Assessments can take from four to sixteen hours and are typically covered by insurance. Upon completion a full report is discussed between client and psychologist, with referral for medication, further imaging, coaching, therapy or intensive treatment.

These assessments are particularly helpful at all academic levels, to delineate school and job accommodations, now mandated by the federal government. The resulting report can be used forensically, vocationally, or personally and is typically an enjoyable and practical insight into understanding a design and plan for our lives.

Following brain injury or illness that affects cognition, memory, or emotion, the specificity of comprehensive neuropsychological exam is used by neural surgeons and neurologists to pinpoint more accurately the areas affected by or to be affected by excision. These exams, more sensitive than MRI or CT scans in describing function, can be used in conjunction with Spect imaging, which utilizes more cameras than MRI or CT scans. Together with clinical impressions and history, diagnostic exactness leads to more timely relief and recovery, as some of the guesswork is eliminated in medication trials.

The cognitive behavioral style of Henry Cloud and John Townsend's writing, based in object relations therapy, flows easily into work with Boundaries, Safe Others, and Changes That Heal, foundational ideas in the work of many Meier Clinics professionals..
