MEIER CLINICS FAITH-BASED HOSPITAL PROGRAM

Meier Clinics has developed a Faith-Based Hospital Program in El Paso, Texas, sponsored by University Behavioral Health and in Portland, Oregon, at Cedar Hills Hospital.  This program provides mental health care services designed to treat the entire person — emotionally, physically and spiritually.

The Meier Clinics Faith-Based Program is provided for individuals who need more intensive care than is available in an outpatient setting.  Clients will receive personalized care through individual and group counseling from dedicated and caring professional staff.  After completion of the hospital program, clients may continue building on the skills they have learned by attending the Meier Clinics Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospital Program.

NEW BOOKS BY PAUL MEIER, M.D.

FINDING PURPOSE IN PAIN    At one time or another everyone finds themselves questioning, "Does God still love me? Is there a purpose for all this pain?" Drs. Meier and Henderson teach readers how to face painful struggles head-on in a way that allows them to grow and mature emotionally and spiritually.

In this timely book, they explore the seven most common life challenges: Injustice, Rejection, Loneliness, Loss, Discipline, Failure, and Death.  In addition, they offer the three reasons we often miss the gifts these challenges can be. This unique approach to an age-old problem will encourage and challenge readers to grow through their struggles instead of wasting energy trying to avoid them altogether.

This book is being released in November as a hard cover book and audiobook through Thomas Nelson, publisher.

YOU MIGHT BE A NARCISSIST IF. . .   The term narcissism is used frequently, but the word is often misused and misunderstood.  Dr. Meier, in collaboration with two psychotherapists, has written this book to help readers understand the true meaning of narcissism and what can be done about it.  It is currently available as an e-book and will be available in paperback in June 2009.  For more information, please visit Dr. Meier's webpage on our website.

THE POSTPARTUM SURVIVAL GUIDE   This book, co-authored by Dr. Meier and Lynne Johnson, R.N., is available June 1, 2009, through Tyndale Publishers.  Eighty percent of all pregnant women struggle with depression during or after their child's birth.  The good news is that nearly 100% of postpartum mood disorders are treatable.  This book offers hope-filled solutions to new mothers so they can truly enjoy this special time in their lives.  It also has helpful resources for fathers, family members, friends, pastors, and professionals.
