Background and Experience: Barry's previous profession work experience includes Woodley House, Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, 28-Day Chemical Dependency Program Inpatient Unit, Montgomery County Crisis Center, Abused Persons Program and Rape Crisis Center, Employee Assistance Program.
Helen McDowell, L.C.S.W.-C.

Education and Training: Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Masters in Social Work Degree from the Catholic University of America. Helen has advanced training in EMDR, PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program, and CISM (Critical Incidence Stress Management). She has been licensed in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia since 1996 as a Social Worker.
Background and Experience: Helen's worked at the Community Psychiatric Clinic in Wheaton, Maryland, the Navy Fleet and Family Support Center, and the Montgomery County Public Schools before joining Meier Clinics. She has experience training adults in the areas of stress management, effective communication skills building, and life coaching.
Special Interests and Services: Helen works with individual adults and couples on a wide range of issues. She uses a biopsychosocial approach to counseling and is committed to treating the whole person--physical, emotional, and spiritual. She specializes in treating relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss, and women's issues.
Additional Information: Helen is a member of the Healing and Intercessory Prayer Team at her church.

Education and Training: Masters in Counseling from Montclair State University in New Jersey. Maureen is currently studying the integration of Psychology with Philosophy and Theology at the Institute for Psychological Sciences in Arlington, VA.
Background and Experience: Maureen has worked for the child protection agency in New Jersey, DYFS; provided in-home family therapy to families in need of supervision by that agency; and at Newton Memorial Hospital in New Jersey, where she had experience providing services in all phases of Community Mental Health, including Crisis Intervention, Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Career Counseling. She is also part of the Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat program for people harmed by abortion.
